Harlan Place

San Francisco, California

Downtown San Francisco’s renovated Harlan Place is a shared public open space respite from the bustle of the City’s main public ways. It will invite visitors to linger for reflection or socializing day and night. The newly enlivened space complements activities of other Harlan establishments including Bar Fluxus and the Irish Bank making a contiguous lively outdoor experience with adjacent Mark Lane. The design of the Harlan parklet embraces the new 300 Grant mixed-use architecture inviting workers and visitors from Grant Avenue down Harlan to the building’s office lobby entry. The somewhat formal experience includes permanent seating, street trees and street planters with seasonal interest. The sidewalk and the vehicular roadway are dressed up with rich decorative pavements.
